A 'nerdy' look at the world's most beautiful game... Been pretty much devouring anything in print and online wit regards to the world cup, thanks to my not being able to watch most of the matches...
In the course of doing so have come across some rather interesting articles... The first is a study on penalty kicks in football by my favourite economist and a coupla others. Statuatory warning: If you don't like numbers and number crunching your'e probably going to hate this!
The next is a rather interesting article in the Economist, written by one of their columnists Lexington regarding America and its cluelessness regarding Football
While the last is an article from last month in the NY times, again by by favourite economist regarding the superstars of world football and their months of birth Although to reas this I think you may need to register at NY times( registration is however easy and free!)
On a totally different beat, I always knew there was a higher purpose in choosing to be an Economist, its nice to see my views mirrored :D
