Happy Valentine's day
So I read this pretty cool 100 word christmas short story over the weekend by Neil Gaiman, and it got me wanting to start writing again. The inspiration for this is obviously that particular story and a few songs I happened to be listening to last night.
It's short enough to make sure one doesn't get bored halfway through.
Where is the love...
He didn't mind the songs, the soppy movies made him cringe but the celebration of a 'Hallmark holiday' really irked him.
The chocolates, the flowers, the cards, it was an orgy unlike any he had ever known. It set ridiculous expectations and pre-conditions which cramped his style.
One hit one 'kill', a motto he prided himself on in the old days. Today, the materialism and cynicism made him question the efficacy of even multiple successful hits
Snapping out of past reminiscences he sighed, lazily flapped his wings, lined up the next likely couple and notched another arrow to his bow.
